Texturing a mesh for Roblox
- Roblox Studio imports meshes as FBX, OBJ or glTF/GLB. A MeshPart shows one colour texture, so one PNG per part is what you need.
- Roblox has its own Texture Generator (beta) inside Studio. Its docs list 1024x1024 textures and a daily limit; check the Roblox docs for the current numbers.
- Here you texture the mesh before import, in the browser, with any model up to 60 MB. Credits are the only limit.
- Low-poly game look? The Stylized game and Cartoon styles keep colours clean.
How to texture a Roblox model with AI
- 1
Upload your mesh
Drop the FBX, OBJ or GLB you will import into Roblox. Your UVs are kept by default.
- 2
Describe the look
Write the texture, like "stylized wooden crate with metal corners", or pick a style.
- 3
Paint with AI
Auto paints 4, 6 or 8 views. Turn the model to repaint any spot.
- 4
Fix seams
Heal seams and paint by hand for free.
- 5
Import into Roblox
Download the textured GLB, or the PNG with your own UVs, and import it in Roblox Studio.

Roblox’s built-in tool runs inside Studio on MeshParts and has a daily limit set by Roblox. This tool textures the model before you import it, with your own UVs kept, and is limited only by credits.
Roblox limits triangles per mesh, so keep game meshes light. The studio never changes your mesh; check it first with the polygon count checker.
No. The shape, polygon count and size stay exactly the same. The AI only paints the texture on the surface.
Each AI view costs 2 credits, and an Auto texture paints 4 views for 8 credits (6 or 8 views for hidden areas cost 12 or 16). New accounts get free credits to start. The Heal and Paint brushes and the PBR maps are free.
