A texture detail enhancer keeps your texture and adds the fine surface detail it is missing: cracks in stone, grain in wood, weave in fabric. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP, choose Precise or Creative, and the AI sharpens it at the same size or 2x. Seamless textures stay tileable.

How to enhance texture detail with AI
1
Upload a texture
Drop a PNG, JPG or WebP colour texture (albedo or diffuse map), from 64 to 4096 px per side.
2
Pick Precise or Creative
Precise keeps every colour and shape and only adds fine detail. Creative lets the AI redraw more. Choose the same size or 2x, and tick "Seamless" for a tiling texture.
3
Enhance for 2 credits
Sign in and press Enhance. One texture costs 2 credits at either size. If the AI fails or takes too long, the credits are refunded automatically.
4
Compare, check tiling, download
Drag the before/after slider, press "Check tiling" to see a 2x2 repeat, then download the PNG or put it on your 3D model.
More detail or more pixels?
Both tools keep your texture. The detail enhancer asks the AI to draw new fine detail into it; the texture upscaler makes it larger and stays true to every pixel. Many people use both: enhance first, then upscale the result.
The texture upscaler makes a texture larger (2x or 4x) and tries to stay true to every pixel. The detail enhancer is creative: it keeps your texture and asks our image AI to add sharper, richer surface detail, such as cracks, pores of the material, grain and weave. Use the upscaler for exact resolution, and this page for more detail.
Both ask the AI for the same texture with the same colours and layout. Precise then keeps the broad colours and shapes of your original and takes only the fine detail from the AI, so nothing moves. Creative keeps the AI result as it is, so cracks can get deeper and grain bolder.
Yes, when "Seamless" is ticked. Before the AI sees it, the texture gets a border copied from its opposite edges, so the AI draws across the edge in one piece. The centre is then cut out and the last pixels are blended into what the AI drew next to the first ones. Press "Check tiling" to see a 2x2 repeat before you download.
Two credits per texture, at the same size or 2x. The price is shown on the button before you start. If the AI fails, takes too long or the download breaks, the credits are refunded automatically, and pressing Enhance again on the same texture never charges twice.
PNG, JPG and WebP from 64 to 4096 px per side, up to 30 MB, no longer than 4:1. The result is up to 1600 px per side; a bigger texture is scaled down first, and the texture upscaler can then make the result larger. Transparency is kept: the AI enhances the colour and your alpha channel is put back unchanged. The texture is sent to our server and the Replicate AI service.
It is made for colour maps (albedo or diffuse). The AI does not know that a normal map stores directions, so it can break one. Enhance the colour map here, then make a matching normal map from the result with the normal map generator.
