Stylize a 3D Model with AI Keeps your mesh: only the texture gets a new style

To stylize a 3D model with AI, drop your GLB, OBJ, FBX or STL file below, pick a style such as hand-painted, toon, anime or pixel art, and open it in our AI 3D Texturing Studio. AI repaints the texture on your exact mesh, so the shape and polygons stay the same. Preview first, then download a GLB.

Prompt for the studio: a bear, hand-painted stylized texture, soft visible brush strokes, painted highlights and shadows, warm saturated colours

Opening the studio is free. Painting uses credits: a Quick preview of 4 sides costs 2 credits, and Auto texture costs 2 credits per view.

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick a style

Choose hand-painted, toon, anime, pixel art, clay, watercolour, flat colour, comic ink, or realistic to un-stylize. Say what the model is, then drop your file or pick a sample.

  2. 2

    AI repaints your exact mesh

The studio opens with your model and the style prompt filled in. AI paints the texture onto your own mesh; uploads keep their UV map by default (Keep my UVs), so the texture fits your file.

  3. 3

    Preview, then paint all sides

Quick preview paints 4 sides in one call for 2 credits. Like it? Auto texture paints 4, 6, 8 views with matched colours. Then download a textured GLB or the texture PNG.

Hand-painted, toon or anime: what each style gives you

Hand-painted gives soft brush strokes with painted light and shadow, the classic stylized game asset look. Toon / cel-shaded uses flat colours, hard two-tone shadows and dark outlines. Anime keeps colours clean with crisp shadows and soft highlights. Pixel art, clay, watercolour, flat colour and comic ink are painted looks too, and Realistic turns a stylized model back into natural materials. Each one is a text prompt you can edit in the studio before you paint.

What it can and can't do

  • Only the texture changes. The shape, polygon count and size of your model stay exactly the same, so a pixel art or low-poly look is painted on, not built into the mesh.
  • The AI paints from your model's shape, not from its old texture. To keep colours, say them in "What is it?", for example "a red wooden chest with gold trim".
  • Toon outlines and comic ink lines are painted into the texture. They do not add a toon shader or outline effect in your game engine or viewer.
  • Results vary from one preview to the next. Run a Quick preview first (2 credits), and paint all sides only when you like the style.
  • Hidden spots (under arms, inside holes) can stay grey after 4 views. Pick 6 or 8 views, or turn the model and paint that view again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pick a style on this page, type what the model is, and drop your GLB, OBJ, FBX or STL file (or pick a sample). Press "Stylize in the studio": the AI 3D Texturing Studio opens with your model and the style prompt filled in. Press Quick preview to see the look, then Auto texture to paint every side, and download a GLB.
No. The mesh, polygon count and size stay exactly the same; only the texture on the surface is repainted. If you want a brand-new model built in a style instead, use Copy Style 3D.
Yes. The Hand-painted style asks for soft brush strokes with painted highlights and shadows, the look used for many stylized game assets. Say what the object is (for example "a wooden treasure chest") so the AI paints the right materials.
Pick Toon / cel-shaded for flat colours with hard two-tone shadows and dark outlines, or Anime for clean colours with crisp shadows and soft highlights. Both are painted into the texture, so they show in any viewer without a special shader.
Picking a style and opening your model are free. In the studio, Quick preview paints 4 sides in one call for 2 credits. Auto texture costs 2 credits per view, for 4, 6, 8 views. Heal and Paint brushes and PBR maps are free. You sign in when you paint.
Yes. Pick "Realistic (un-stylize)" and describe the real materials, for example "an old oak barrel with iron bands". The studio repaints the whole texture with a realistic look on the same mesh.
GLB, GLTF, OBJ, FBX, STL and PLY, up to 60 MB. Files without UVs, like most STL files, get new UVs automatically in the studio. The download is a textured GLB, or the texture as a PNG.
No. The file stays in your browser and is passed to the studio page on this site. Only pictures of each camera view are sent to our server to be painted, and only when you press a paint button in the studio.
