3D Model Material Changer Turn your model into wood, marble, gold or chrome with AI

A 3D model material changer gives your model a new surface without changing its shape. Upload a GLB, OBJ, FBX or STL file, pick a material such as oak, marble, gold or chrome, and AI paints that texture onto your exact mesh from every side. Metals get real shine from free PBR maps, then you download a GLB.

1. Your 3D model

Drop a 3D model here or click to chooseGLB, GLTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, PLY ยท up to 60 MB ยท stays in your browser

Prompt for the studio: solid polished gold, warm yellow gold metal with bright highlights

Shine tip: after painting, press Make PBR maps (free) and raise Metalness so the gold reflects light.

Opening the studio is free. Painting uses credits: Quick preview 2 credits (4 sides in one call), Auto 8 / 12 / 16 credits for 4 / 6 / 8 views.

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick a material

Choose oak, walnut, marble, granite, gold, chrome, bronze, copper, rusted iron, ceramic, leather, fabric, concrete or jade, then drop your model or pick a sample.

  2. 2

    AI paints your exact mesh

In the studio, Quick preview paints 4 sides in one call, or Auto paints 4, 6 or 8 views. The texture goes onto your own mesh, and Keep my UVs keeps your UV layout.

  3. 3

    Add shine and download

For metals, press Make PBR maps (free, in your browser) and raise Metalness so gold and chrome catch the light. Then download a textured GLB or the texture PNG.

What it can and can't do

  • AI paints the surface: the colour, grain, veins and wear you see. The shape, polygons and size of your model do not change.
  • The texture is painted, not a physical simulation. Metals look metallic in viewers and game engines after the free PBR step (Make PBR maps, then raise Metalness and lower Roughness).
  • Small or hidden parts (under arms, inside holes) can stay grey after 4 views. Use 6 or 8 views, or turn the model and paint that view again.
  • One material for the whole model is the easy path. For two materials, paint one, then mark a part with Select region in the studio and repaint only that part.

Only want new colours? Change the colour for free with the 3D Model Color Changer: no AI, no credits.

Pick a material on this page, drop your GLB, OBJ, FBX or STL file (or pick a sample), and press "Change material in the studio". The AI 3D Texturing Studio opens with your model and the material prompt filled in. Press Quick preview or Auto texture to paint it, then download a GLB.
Yes. Pick Gold or Chrome and paint it in the studio. Then press Make PBR maps and raise Metalness and lower Roughness: that turns the painted gold or silver into a metal that reflects light in viewers, Blender and game engines.
No. The mesh, polygon count and size stay exactly the same. The AI only paints the texture on the surface. With "Keep my UVs" the texture goes into your own UV layout.
Choosing a material and opening your model are free. In the studio, a Quick preview paints 4 sides in one call for 2 credits. Auto texture costs 2 credits per view: 8 for 4 views, 12 for 6 views, 16 for 8 views. PBR maps, Heal and Paint brushes are free. You sign in when you paint.
GLB, GLTF, OBJ, FBX, STL and PLY, up to 60 MB. Files without UVs, like most STL files, get new UVs automatically in the studio.
Yes, one part at a time. Paint the whole model in the first material, then use the studio's Select region brush to mark a part (a handle, a base, a trim) and repaint only that part with a second material prompt.
Yes. The free 3D Model Color Changer recolours each material or tints the texture in your browser, with no AI and no credits. Use this page when you want a new surface like wood grain, marble veins or metal.
No. The file stays in your browser and is passed to the studio page on this site. Only the pictures of each camera view are sent to our server to be painted, and only when you press a paint button in the studio.
