Convert 2D to 3D: Turn a 2D Image into a 3D Model

Upload a 2D picture, drawing or illustration of one object and AI builds a full 3D model, sides and back included. Download GLB or STL. Usually about 1-3 minutes.

🖼️

Any 2D Image

A photo, drawing, illustration, render or concept art of one object

🔄

Full 3D, All Sides

AI fills in the depth and the sides the picture doesn't show

📦

GLB and STL

A textured GLB for 3D software and an STL for printing

Want to 3D print it? Try Image to STL →Same AI and the same credits, with the STL download first and slicer steps for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and Cura.

How to Convert a 2D Image to 3D

1

Upload Your 2D Image

Choose a PNG, JPG or WEBP of one object, on a plain background, in good light, up to 10MB.

2

AI Converts It to 3D

The AI builds the depth, the hidden sides and a texture, usually in about 1-3 minutes.

3

Check It from Every Side

Rotate the model in the viewer. If a hidden side looks wrong, try a three-quarter view of the object.

4

Download GLB or STL

Take the textured GLB into Blender, a game engine or AR, or the STL into your slicer to 3D print it.

What Converting 2D to 3D Means

A 2D image is flat: it has width and height but no depth. Converting 2D to 3D means building that missing depth, so you end up with a model you can turn all the way around, light, animate, put in a game or print.

This 2D to 3D converter does it with AI from a single picture. Upload a photo, drawing, illustration, render or piece of concept art of one object. The AI reads the shape, builds a full 3D mesh, paints a texture onto it and makes a best guess at the sides and back the picture does not show. There is nothing to install and no modeling skill needed.

You get two downloads: a textured GLB for Blender, game engines, AR and the web, and an STL for 3D printing.

Pick the Right 2D to 3D Tool for Your Image

  • A photo, illustration or concept art of an object: Use this page. Characters, creatures, toys, products, props, furniture and decor all work. One clear image is enough.
  • A hand drawing or sketch: Use Sketch to 3D. You add a short description of what the lines show, which helps the AI read a rough drawing.
  • A logo, icon or silhouette: A flat shape with exact edges comes out cleaner when it is extruded than when AI guesses it. Use SVG to STL for vector art, PNG to STL for a PNG with a transparent background, or the 3D logo maker to show off a logo as a 3D render or GLB.
  • A 2D CAD drawing or outline (DXF): Use DXF to STL. It extrudes the closed shapes in your drawing to a height you choose. Engineering parts that must fit exact measurements still belong in CAD software.
  • Several photos of the same object: Use Multi-View to 3D. Two to four photos from different sides give the AI more to work with than one.
  • A photo you want as a flat relief: Use the lithophane generator or JPG to STL. They turn brightness into height on a flat plate instead of building a full object.

Tips for a Better 2D to 3D Result

  • One object, filling the frame: The AI builds one model per image. A single subject that fills most of the picture gives the most detail. Group shots and small subjects in busy scenes come out weaker.
  • Plain background, even light: A clean background makes the outline easy to find. Soft, even light shows the shape better than hard shadows.
  • Show a three-quarter view: A view from slightly to the side shows the front and one side at once, so the AI guesses less about depth than it does from a flat front view.
  • Clean art converts well: Character art, product renders and clear illustrations work well. Text-heavy graphics, very thin details and transparent objects such as glass are hard to reconstruct.
  • Not happy? Try again: Check the model from every side in the viewer. If a hidden side looks wrong, try another view of the object, a different seed or more inference steps in the options.

  • Cost: 20 credits per model, the same as Image to 3D
  • Options: Seed and inference steps (10 to 50)

Frequently Asked Questions

You can start free. New accounts get 20 free credits, and each model costs 20 credits, so the free credits cover one model. After that, paid plans add more credits; see the pricing page.
One object, in focus, filling most of the frame, on a plain background, in good light. Character art, product photos, toy photos and clean illustrations convert well. Group shots, busy scenes and text-heavy graphics do not.
It doesn't see it, so it makes a best guess from the visible side. Simple and symmetrical objects come out most faithfully. A three-quarter view gives it more to work with than a flat front view. If you have photos from several sides, Multi-View to 3D uses them all.

No. The AI interprets your image, so it suits characters, props, products and decor. For a 2D CAD outline in DXF format, DXF to STL extrudes the closed shapes. Parts that must fit exact measurements need CAD software.
It can, but a flat logo usually comes out cleaner when it is extruded. Use SVG to STL or PNG to STL for a printable logo, or the 3D logo maker for a 3D render or GLB.
No. This tool builds a 3D model of an object that you can rotate, edit and print. Turning a flat photo or film into a stereoscopic or parallax 3D effect is a different job that video and photo editors do.
Usually about 1-3 minutes, sometimes longer when many people are generating at once. Keep the page open, then download your model.
