3D Diorama Generator: Turn a Scene Idea into a Printable 3D Model

Pick a scene such as a cozy cabin in snowy pines, or describe your own. Choose a round, square or hex base and the size you want to print. The page writes one prompt for a single diorama on its base, with chunky shapes that print well. Paste it into Text to STL and download a 3D model, not a picture.

Looking for a diorama picture only? This page makes 3D models you can print, spin in a viewer or paint.

1. Pick a scene

One main place and a few big, solid things around it. These scenes are picked because they print well.

Use your own idea, not a place or character from a film, game, book or brand, and not a real person.

2. Choose the base and size

The base shape goes into the prompt. The size is what you scale the model to before printing.

Base
= 3.94 in

Print note: scale the model so the base is 100.0 mm wide. AI models come out at no fixed size, so set it in Scale STL after you download.

3. Make the 3D model

One diorama: 15 creditsUses your Text to STL or Text to 3D login and credits.

Your prompt (Cozy cabin in snowy pines):

Miniature 3D diorama of a cozy log cabin with a stone chimney among a few chunky snow-covered pine trees, smooth snowy ground, single diorama on a thick round base, chunky solid shapes, no thin parts, no floating parts, 3d printable, three-quarter view, plain white background

  1. Press Open in Text to STL. The prompt goes with it into the Prompt box.
  2. Generate. If the box is empty, come back, press Copy prompt and paste it in.
  3. Download the STL to print, or the GLB to view and paint.

Text to STL is for printing. Text to 3D gives the same kind of model as a GLB for games and renders (15 credits).

Big scene? Make it in pieces

One prompt gives one model, and busy scenes come out blurry. Generate the main building, the terrain and the props as separate prompts, scale them to match and glue them together after printing.

Thin parts break

Fences, branches, flags and railings are the first things to snap. The prompt asks for chunky shapes; check the model before printing and thicken or remove anything that looks like a wire.

How to make a 3D printable diorama

  1. 1

    Pick or describe a scene

Choose one of the twelve scenes or type your own: one main place and two or three things around it. Big, chunky shapes print best.

  2. 2

    Choose the base and size

Pick a round, square or hex base and the width you want to print, in mm or inches. The prompt adds the base for you.

  3. 3

    Generate the 3D model

Press Open in Text to STL: the prompt goes into the Prompt box (or copy it and paste it in). Generate, then download the STL to print or the GLB to paint.

  4. 4

    Scale, check and print

Scale the model so the base is your chosen width in Scale STL, check it in the STL viewer, then print it or paint it in the AI 3D Texturing Studio.

What to expect from an AI diorama

  • You get one model: the scene and its base as a single piece. Parts are not separate, so you can't move the trees or the house afterwards.
  • Simple scenes come out best. Many small props in one prompt turn into blurry lumps; make big scenes in pieces.
  • Thin parts (fences, branches, flags) are fragile in print. Check the model in the STL viewer and thicken or remove them.
  • The base may not come out perfectly flat or exactly the shape you asked for. Sand it, or add a clean base in your slicer.
  • AI models have no fixed size. Scale the model to your base width before printing.

3D diorama generator FAQ

A 3D model. Many "AI diorama generators" only make a picture of a diorama. This page writes the prompt, and Text to STL or Text to 3D turns it into a 3D model you can download as an STL to print or a GLB to view and paint.
One diorama is one Text to STL or Text to 3D generation. The exact credits are shown next to the prompt and come from the same settings those tools use. If it is not right, try a simpler scene or another base before generating again.
One main place with a few big, solid things around it: a cabin and pine trees, a lighthouse on rocks, a mushroom cottage. Busy scenes with many small parts, thin fences, wires or leafy branches come out blurry or break when printed.
Make it in pieces. Generate the main building, the base terrain and any extra props as separate prompts, scale them to match, and glue them together after printing. Each piece then gets the full detail of one generation.
Pick the base width you want; the page shows it in mm and inches. Around 80-120 mm suits a desk or shelf. Small dioramas lose fine detail on a filament printer, so resin is better below about 50 mm. If the base is wider than your printer bed, split the model into parts.
Yes. If you already have a photo of a scale model or a scene you built, use the scale model image to 3D page, which turns one picture into one 3D model.
Yes. Paint the print by hand, or paint the 3D model itself: open the GLB in the AI 3D Texturing Studio, describe the colours and download a textured model for games, renders or a colour print.
No. Places and characters from films, games, books or brands are not allowed. Describe the look you want in your own words instead, for example "a wizard school on a cliff".
